This past weekend, we made the last minute decision to head back to Waukon so Cael could meet some of his Great-Grandparents. The weather was nice, so we thought we had better take advantage of that. We left Saturday morning, and Cael rode extremely well. He slept the first 2 hours, then began to fuss likely due to hunger. We thought we were going to have to stop in Decorah to feed him, but we ended up taking the chance, and he slept the rest of the way to Waukon. While home, we visited Great-Grandma and Grandpa Ryan and Great-Grandpa Rixen. Everyone was very excited to meet Cael, and we were excited to introduce Cael to them!

On Monday, Cael and I began a "Baby and Me" class. It was kind of entertaining, hearing stories from other new moms, as well as getting little tips on how to make something work better (ie sleeping at night and being awake during the day). Cael did well through the class. It was clear to me that he had what appeared to be the most developed lungs. They weighed the babies as well...I didn't hear any numbers higher than Cael's, but I also wasn't listening to closely. Are you ready to see how good of an eater he is? He weighed 10 lb 4 oz! Is almost a pound a week too much to be putting on? He is going to catch cousin Kjetil soon (if he hasn't already), and possibly even cousin Flynn (who is 7 months older than he is!).
Today I had my postpartum check up. Things are looking really good. My blood pressure was 98/64 (back to normal!) however I am still on medication. Now I need to make an appointment to begin the weaning process, safely. I was given the go ahead to begin exercising and working out again, which makes me excited. (With orders to "start slowly"). I had a lab draw to check my hemaglobin level, which hopefully will show up as normal. Cael doesn't have another appointment until his 2 month, so another 4 weeks.
Well, we are anxiously waiting for the little "warm up" starting tomorrow! I have had just about enough of the below zero weather for one year! Upper 30's will certainly be welcomed! Hope everyone is doing well!! We will be in touch!!!
All stretched out!

We can't believe how adorable Cael is! He looks so grown-up! Time goes by quickly. Flynn says tell Cael hi and give him a big sloppy Flynn kiss for him.
Cael is such a cutie pie! And what a good eater. Karson only weighs 8 lbs 12 oz, and he is 3 1/2 months old.
