Lutsen in the Winter

In case you are wondering, when I took Cael to the doctor last Friday he ended up having yet another double ear infection, with croup to top it off! Poor guy! So, he was on 2 different medications. Jonathan and I contemplated whether or not we should go up north as we had been planning, but we knew my parents would love to spend the time with Cael, and they can give him medicine just as easily as we could...so, we went...and Cael did really well (according to my parents).

Jonathan and I left early Saturday morning for Lutsen, MN and we were x-country skiing by 12:30! This was my kind of x-country skiing...we took a lift to the top of the mountain, and we gradually came down the "mountain" on a groomed path...I told you..my kind of x-country skiing!



Our "old school" skies worked really well. Someone forgot to tell Jonathan that dress shoes don't work very well with skiing...



On Sunday we went Jonathan was a trooper and went downhill skiing with me. This will only be his 3rd time downhill skiing and the last time we went he broke his thumb! The weather wasn't as nice as it was on Saturday, but I guess that is what you can expect! It is winter in Northern Minnesota! We made it throughout the day without injuries.


We had a great trip, and are looking forward to the summer when we can head up there again, this time for hiking and biking!!
