November: Started out with the marathon of baby classes we took trying to prepare for the little one's arrival...not sure exactly what I remember from the beginning of November, but I guess we will find out soon what we do actually remember! Beyond the classes, we tried to have a few "last dates" before the baby arrives. We went to the Melting Pot Fondue restaurant...another marathon, only this one of eating (2.5 hours of eating!). We enjoyed a Violin/Piano duet classical concert, compliments of Jonathan's boss, Charlie, who has tickets to all the concerts. We even went to a Minnesota Wild Hockey game...they ended up losing the game, but it was a fun experience anyway. Jonathan has decided that this baby is going to be in it's first pair of skates by 6 months old...I needed to remind him that that puts us in mid-summer, which may not be a good time for skating! Mom and dad came up for a weekend...mom and I went shopping while dad and Jonathan repaired our basement ceiling...hmmm...looks kind of suspicious to me!!
Thanksgiving...(where did the month go?)! Jonathan and I had to work the day after Thanksgiving, so we spent with our "MN family", the Gregory's (Amanda was a classmate of mine, and we also work together at Regions), for Thanksgiving dinner...always a good time when we get together with the Gregory's! Good food, good company, nice relaxing time!! I decided not to fight the crowds the day after Thanksgiving, but I got up and went to work anyway! Jonathan and I then headed back to Waukon for the weekend to see family and friends!
I had my first baby shower this weekend...lots of good food, good company, time to see family and friends (especially those I never get to see), lots of babies...

December: Began the same way November did, finishing up with our marathon of baby classes. I had another baby shower in Minneapolis, which was thrown by the girls from work...lots of good food, good company, time to see co-workers/friends/family! The following weekend, the Ryan family joined Jonathan and I in MPLS for an early Christmas celebration.
It was great having mom and dad, Andy and Hannah here. We of course missed Eric and Cyndy and the girls, but they weren't traveling for the same reasons we weren't traveling...baby on the way! I began nesting throughout December and do not see it ending until the baby arrives...making meals to freeze, organizing the closets, getting the baby's room ready, washing the baby's clothes, putting away the baby's toys, making Christmas candies/goodies, and the list continues! Christmas day was nice and relaxing. Our friends, the Poska's (Jonathan's roommate from undergrad and his wife) joined us at our house for Christmas dinner, followed by a competitive game of Seinfeld Scene It (Ok, not really competitive, but fun).
On Sunday, December 28, the Ryan family welcomed the newest little addition, Kjetil Michael! (I guess Cyndy won the "race" of having the baby first...I am not at all surprised!!) I can't wait for the 2 little cousins to meet, who will be so close in age!I guess that is about what we have been up to the past 2 months...just a couple things here and there! I apologize for not updating more often...I will try harder when the baby is here, and I have more to talk about!! Of course to share updated photos and stories, too!! We wish you all a Happy New Year!!!
