Gramma and Grampa Rixen visit!

Cael's daycare had off this past week, so we were lucky enough to have Jim and Debbie take a few days off of work to come up and stay with us and take care of Cael during the day! They were very busy do anything they could think of! (Jim even did some landscaping projects for us!) Some of the highlights:

Going for a lot of walks!

Going to the wading pool! Not surprising, Cael loved to watch the other kids play!!

He started this cheesy grin a couple days ago!

Going to the Mall of America and eating at the Rainforest Cafe! We ordered a "Volcano" for Debbie's birthday treat!

It is Debbie's birthday today (Happy Birthday, Gramma), but we managed to celebrate all week long!! Jim, Debbie, Jonathan, and I went to Chanhassen Dinner Theater on Tuesday and saw Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! If you haven't ever seen this, I would highly recommend it! It was fantastic! Don't worry, Amanda watched Cael for us so we could enjoy the show, and everyone else could to!

Thanks, Gramma and Grampa for a really fun week!!!

6th months

Can hardly believe it, but Cael is 6 months old already...and continues to grow with the best of 'em! He is a very healthy little "big" boy! And no ear infections this time!!! 18 lb 15 oz (75%), 26.5 inches long (58%) . So when you hold him, and he feels kind of heavy...well, HE IS!

He loves eating solid foods...we haven't found anything he doesn't like yet! He loves sweet potatoes, mango, avocado, bananas, applesauce, sweet peas, cereal, and water! I have even tried my hand in making his food...so far it is working out well! And it is kind of fun!!

4th of July

Since we had been gone for a few weekends in a row, we decided to stay put 4th of July weekend. The day started with Jonathan running a 5K at Lake Harriett, which went pretty well (he may say otherwise).

We invited the Ryan cousins over who live in the Twin Cities area...it was great to see everyone, and for everyone to finally meet Cael! Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate fully, so we were stuck in our house and porch the entire evening. The company was fun, and there was a lot of good food!!

On July 5, the weather was better and warmer, and we were finally able to get out the "turtle pool" for Cael. Of course he loved it!

Weekend in Chicago

Last weekend, we celebrated Father's Day in Chicago. Unfortunately we hadn't been able to get out there for Cael to meet Jonathan's Grammie and Grampa Cetin until now. Gramma Debbie and Grampa Jim met us there, and so did Uncle Jordan, Auntie Erin, and Cousin Flynn. We had a great time visiting with Great-Grammie and Great-Grampa Cetin, swimming in the pool, staying in the hotel, and flying in the big "bird" to get there! Cael traveled very well!!

Happy Father's Day!!

Jenny's b-day (Cael had just woken up)

The wonders of grass

Cael and I went for a walk on Sunday...what a beautiful day! We took a blanket to a near by park and watched the kids run around, adults play frisbee golf, and kids splashing in the pool! Cael was fascinated when I set him in the grass!!

Playdates with Flynn!!

Jordan, Erin, and Flynn decided to come up and stay with us for an extended weekend! We had such a good time! Cael loved watching Flynn's every move...and he moves a lot! Cael I think is going to have a hard time keeping up with cousin Flynn, but he will try his best!!

There was a lot of exer-saucer fun!

The entertained each other by splashing in the tub!
I was able to get out of work early one day to take Cael to Como Zoo with Jordan, Erin and Flynn!
We tried to get a picture of the boys...follow below to see how it played out!!

5 months old!

Cael is 5 months old now...again, where does the time go? Unfortunately we had to take Cael back into the doctor for another suspected ear infection...sure enough...there was one brewing! While we were there, we found out that he was 16 lb 8 oz! My how he is growing!

Tummy time has become much more enjoyable!

We have begun solids with rice cereal...before and after!! Daily bath time has also become a part of every night routine!

He enjoys holding the bottle following the cereal...he fell asleep with it once!!

Took Cael back to the doctor today as a follow-up for his ears. Looks like his ears are all cleared up so we don't have to worry about antibiotics anymore for the time being! By the way...he is up to 17 lb 2 oz today!!
